The Arkansas weekly livestock summary for the week ending Feb. 3 totaled 3,860 head, compared to 11,673 last week and 13,898 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Little Rock, AR.

Compared to last test, slaughter cows were $1 to $2 higher. Slaughter bulls were $1 to $2 higher. Feeder steers were steady to $2 higher. Heifers were firm to $3 higher. Reduced receipts due to snow storm late last week, dumping six to 12 inches across the state.

Supply included 2,000 head stocker and feeder calves; 925 feeder yearlings; 435 replacement cows; 430 slaughter cows; and 70 slaughter bulls

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, over 850 lbs., 35.00 to 42.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, over 850 lbs., 35.00 to 40.00; high dressing, 40.50 to 44.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, over 800 lbs., 34.00 to 39.00; high dressing, 39.50 to 44.50; under 800 lbs., 27.00 to 34.00; low dressing and weak cows, 24.00 to 27.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 1000 to 2100 lbs., 45.00 to 51.00; high dressing, 51.50 to 55.00; low dressing, 40.00 to 45.00.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, English cross and English-exotic crosses, 300 to 350 lbs., 115.00 to 127.00 few to 130.00; 350 to 400 lbs., 107.00 to 117.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 100.00 to 110.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 97.00 to 107.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 92.00 to 102.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 87.00 to 96.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 82.00 to 91.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 80.00 to 84.50. Feeder cows: Medium and few large frame 1, 2 years old, 650- to 800-lb. heiferettes, 55.00 to 65.00, few to 73.00; 2 to 3 years old, 800 to 1000 lbs., heiferettes, 48.00 to 56.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and few large frame 1, 2 to 7 years old, 850 to 1200 lbs., pregnancy checked and second and third stage bred, 46.00 to 56.00, few sales to 65.00; short bred and open, thin grazing cows, 36.00 to 45.00.

Cow-calf pairs: Medium and few large frame 1, 2 to 7 years old, 800- to 1100-lb. cows, with 1000- to 200-lb. calf at side, 600.00 to 750.00 per pair; similar cows, with 200- to 350-lb. calves at side, 750.00 to 870.00 per pair. Small and medium frame 1 and 2, 650 to 850 lbs., aged cows, with 100- to 200-lb. calves at side, 450.00 to 600.00 per pair.
