Area cattle producers and chemical applicators are encouraged to attend a How Do I Control Sericea Lespedeza meeting, which is being sponsored by K-State Research and Extension Anderson County and the Anderson County Noxious Weed Department, Monday, April 3, at the Community Building, Lake Garnett Park, in Garnett.

The meeting will begin with a hamburger fry at 6:30 p.m., provided by Dow AgroScience and Dupont Agriculture Products.

The program, which will begin at approximately 7:15 p.m., will feature Gary Kilgore, KSU Research and Extension crops and soils specialist; Kara Jet, sales representative, Dow AgroScience, and Arvon Glases, sales representative, Dupont Agriculture Products.

This educational meeting will assist producers in controlling sericea lespedeza that may be or has invaded valuable grazing rangeland.

Topics that will be addressed include: biology and physiology of sericea lesepedeza; herbicide and related control; and economic implications of sericea lespedeza invasion.
