Stockman's Livestock, Inc., Apache, OK, reported receipts of 2,678 head of cattle for the week ending Aug. 19, compared with 2,878 head last week according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service.
Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $1 to $2 lower. Stocker calves were steady. Demand was moderate for feeders and good for stockers. Quality was mostly average. Weighups were average to full. Flesh conditions were moderate to fleshy. Heifers comprised 39% of the feeder and calf supply. Slaughter cows and bulls were $1 to $2 higher. A total of 392 head of cows and bulls were sold.

Replacement cows: Pre-tested for Bangs, pregnancy and age, medium and large frame 1, 5 to 8 years old, 900 to 1200 lbs., 2 to 5 months bred, high quality, 650.00 to 700.00; 5 to 8 year old, 900 to 1200 lbs., 2 to 5 months bred, average quality, 525.00 to 650.00.
Pairs: Medium and large frame 1, 5 to 7 years old, 950 to 1150 lbs., with 100- to 250-lb. calf, average quality, 800.00 to 890.00.
