Stockman's Livestock, Inc., Apache, OK, reported receipts of 4,182 head of cattle Oct. 14, compared with 2,730 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, OK.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Stocker calves were $2 to $30 higher. Demand was good on all classes. Quality was average to attractive. Feeder cattle were in moderate flesh, except for five loads of thin heifers. Stocker calves were average to fleshy. Weighups were average to full. Supply consisted 49% of stocker and feeder cattle over 600 pounds and 40% calves under 600 pounds. Heifers comprised 53% of the stocker and feeder cattle. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady. A total of 650 head of cows and bulls sold, with 54% going to packers.

Replacement cows: Pre-tested for Bangs, pregnancy and age, medium and large frame 1, 5 to 6 years old, 1170 to 1300 lbs., 5 to 6 months bred, high quality, 650.00 to 675.00; 8 to 10 years old, 1150 to 1300 lbs., 4 to 6 months bred, high quality, 475.00 to 525.00.
