The Amarillo livestock auction summary totaled 1,500 head May 30, compared to 3,009 head last week and 2,110 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, TX.

Compared to last week, limited test feeder steers and heifers were $1 to $2 lower. Slaughter cows were $1 to $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were not fully established. Bulk of supply included medium and large frame 1 and 2 500- to 700-pound feeder steers and heifers. Trade and demand were moderate. Supply consisted of feeder steers and heifers under 600 pounds 26%, over 600 pounds 69%, with cows and bulls around 5% of total supply. The feeder supply consisted of 40% steers and 60% heifers.
