For the first time in many years, the American Gelbvieh Association (AGA) annual convention is on the move.
The 2001 AGA convention is Nov. 12 and 13, in Louisville, KY. The convention is being held in conjunction with Gelbvieh activities at the North American International Livestock Exposition.
The American Gelbvieh Association is a grassroots organization and most of the policies enforced by the association began in committee meetings held during the annual convention. The annual meeting also is held during the convention. This year, eight individuals are running for five spots on the AGA board of directors. In the hunt this year for director positions are Bob Betzelberger, San Jose, IL; Stan Clements, Ninety Six, SC; Gail Fiolkoski, Pierce, CO; Jay Johnson, Happy, TX; Tom Scarponcini, Rushford, MN; Galen Sickler, Gladstone, ND; Steve Tarvin, Chickamauga, GA; and Bill Wilkinson, Model, CO.
The NAILE Gelbvieh Show is set for Tuesday, Nov. 14. The third annual Breeder's Choice Gelbvieh Heifer Futurity begins at 12 noon, followed by the Gelbvieh Show. The annual Focus on Flexibility Gelbvieh Sale will begin at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 15.
