The Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction, Ada, Okla., reported receipts of 1,777 head April 8, compared to 1,927 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, steers were steady to $2 lower. Heifers were $2 to $5 lower. Demand was good on all classes. Quality plain to average. Weigh-ups were average. Flesh conditions were medium. The supply was comprised of 36% steers, 60% heifers with 41% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were $2 higher. A total of 500 cows and bulls sold with 23% going to packers.
