Aaron Sprague recently joined the Golden Plains Area Cooperative Extension team of agents. Aaron will specialize in agriculture and business management topics with an emphasis in risk management education. Aaron's position on the team is supported totally by grant funds received through the efforts of specialists in the Golden Plains Area and the Department of Agriculture and Resource Economics at Colorado State University.
Born in Holyoke, Aaron was raised on the family farm near Holyoke. Aaron earned his Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural business from Colorado State University in May of 2002. Aaron then began his course work toward a Master of Science degree in agriculture and resource economics in the fall of 2003. He plans to complete the requirements for graduation in this fall semester of 2005.
Aaron and his wife Amber have two children, Miles (2 years) and Wyatt (2 months). Amber works as a speech therapist for BOCES and services the Holyoke and Julesburg school districts working with kids from pre-school to high school.
This appointment is not a full time position, allowing Aaron to be an active partner in the family farm, one of his main interests. Sports are another primary interest for Aaron. In addition to being a four year letter winner in football for the CSU Rams, Aaron has coached football and basketball at Holyoke High School from 2002 to 2004. Aaron also enjoys watching his younger brother, Dusty play football at the University of Colorado and younger sister, Brianne play volleyball at Regis University.
Aaron can be reached at the Sedgwick County office located in Julesburg. Aaron will be located there until the vacant agent position previously held by Gary Lancaster is filled. The phone number at the Sedgwick County office is 970-474-3479.
Please stop by and introduce yourself and welcome Aaron to the Golden Plains Area.
