Outstanding Service

Each year, National Pastureland Conservation Award recognizes a Natural Resources Conservation Service employee who has exemplified outstanding service to the agency, clients, and the science of grazing land management. This year’s recipient is Mark Green, of Springfield, Missouri. Green spent 37 highly productive years as a certified conservation planner, providing regional leadership as a Soil Conservationist, Area Resource Conservationist, District Conservationist and Lead Resource Conservationist. Recently, he has taken on the role and title of Lead Resource Conservationist. This role has enabled him to work beyond local county boundaries and reach a regional audience. He leverages the strong partnerships with the Soil and Water Conservation Districts, professional societies and universities. (Photo courtesy of American Forage and Grassland Council.)
