OKLAHOMA BEEF COOK-OFF--The Oklahoma Beef Council and the Oklahoma CattleWomen, Inc. have teamed up again to showcase great beef recipes through the Oklahoma Beef Cook-off. Entries in the Beefed Up Beginnings appetizer category or the Budget Busting Meals entree category will show how beef can be used in delicious recipes as part of a healthy balanced diet. The winning recipe will be revealed at the awards presentation on Jan. 19, 2013, at the Oklahoma City Home and Garden Show. The OCW will also be demonstrating the 2011 Oklahoma Beef Cook-off winning recipes at the event. The Oklahoma Beef Cook-off is a partnership between the Oklahoma Beef Council and the Oklahoma CattleWomen, Inc. It is backed by Beef Checkoff dollars.

1300 CONE NURSE TRAILER—Wylie Manufacturing recently introduced the 1300 Cone Nurse Trailer, designed to transport water-based chemicals and fertilizer from the farm to the field to service sprayers. The 1300 Cone Nurse Trailer is available in two models; an Econo model or a non-DOT Deluxe model with lights, brakes and fenders. Both models feature highway tires and adjustable height hitch. DAAY POWER SWEEP—The Daay Power Sweep can be manufactured for bins from 15' up to 66'. It is designed to be fully submersed in grain. The Daay Power Sweep has the ability to perform single or multiple passes. It has a flexible pivot joint and stabilizer arms to allow it to move independently from the gearbox. This allows the sweep to adjust to variations in the floor height. It also has adjustable stabilizer arms to accommodate variations in the bin size and roundness. The paddle chain moves grain gently and evenly to the sump. The drive is driven by the paddle chain, eliminating the need for another power source. The rubber drag also helps clean the floor for minimal sweeping. The Daay Power Sweep has a capacity of 5,000 bushels per hour at 350 rpm tightener shaft speed. The Daay Power Sweep is powered by the power gearbox so there is no second motor or power cords, and it has a single, segmented 5" x 8" x 15" tire. The drive wheel is closer to the center of gravity, so the weight of the sweep is transferred to the tire, better eliminating the need for a weight bracket. The flexible pivot joint transfers the power from the gear box to the sweep. The inclined pivot section allows the sweep to work on any system (and still maintain max capacity) that is designed for a power sweep.
