RESPIRATORY DISEASE PREVENTION--AgriLabs, St. Joseph, Mo., now markets Mycomune R, a vaccine to prevent respiratory disease in calves caused by Mycoplasma bovis. Mycomune R was developed by CEVA Biomune, Lenexa, Kan., and allows producers to administer the vaccine to calves at a much younger age. Mycomune R contains the same four highly immunogenic protective strains found in the current Mycomune, which has been available for three years and is the only USDA-approved vaccine for the prevention and control of mastitis caused by Mycoplasma bovis in mature cows. Mycomune R offers a significant advantage of vaccinating calves early so they can develop immunity before being commingled with other cattle, which usually occurs by 45 to 60 days of age. Additionally, Mycomune R has a withdrawal period of only 21 days, versus 60 days for competitive products. For more information, call 800-542-8916, or visit www.AgriLabs.com.
PRECISION FARMING DISPLAY--Ag Leader Technology, Inc., Ames, Iowa, introduces a new entry-level precision farming display. The EDGE display combines a greater level of simplicity with SeedCommand, DirectCommand and yield monitoring capabilities to meet the year-round needs of today's precision farming operation. Engineered with a rugged, moisture-resistant design, the EDGE display features an enhanced operator experience with an easy-to-use interface and 6.5-inch color touchscreen. The EDGE display supports Ag Leader's AutoSwath feature. Real-time mapping and data logging of field operations help producers to better observe field variations as they happen. Prescription maps for variable rate application and seeding give operators the opportunity to tailor applications to their fields. For more information, call 515-232-5363, or visit www.agleader.com.
GPS STEERING--AutoFarm and MacDon introduce GPS AutoSteer for MacDon-built SP Windrower Tractors. The two companies have collaborated to produce a GPS steering system in a custom-designed kit that provides a factory-installed look for MacDon-built machines. The new system takes full advantage of the superiority of AutoFarm design and technology in hands-free GPS steering. AutoFarm AutoSteer operates on WAAS, OmniSTAR (DGPS) or RTK correction signals at speeds up to 11 miles per hour to significantly speed up harvest productivity. Its hands-free steering dramatically reduces operator stress and fatigue and it produces a continuously full header for more acres per hour, reduced fuel consumption and consistently uniform windrows for easier, faster baling or chopping.
