CORN HEADS--New Holland's 98D Series corn heads unite the best attributes of a point-to-point pinching style stalk roll with the capacity required by larger, more productive combines. It gets under downed corn and takes in less trash. With residue management a key part of farming practices, the 98D corn heads are especially beneficial for no-till planting and minimum-till operations. The 98D corn heads are especially effective with the newer GM corn varieties, which tend to have stronger stalks and are tougher to handle. The 98D corn heads utilize heavier row unit gearboxes and heavy tapered roller bearings that can handle tougher stalks and higher loads. Re-designed Hi-Flow front stalk roll spiral allows faster ground speeds. For more information, call a local New Holland Agriculture dealer or visit www.newholland.com/na.

IMPROVED MODELS--Gleaner introduces the transverse R66 and R76 along with the A66, A76 and A86 (pictured) combines, built to handle more grain, faster and more gently for crop value and quality. Unloading speeds of up to 4.5 bushels per second and a new unloading tube with more reach and height can handle larger grain carts and a wider range of unloading situations. Operator control and comfort in all models have also been upgraded. In addition to updates to the A6 axial rotor Gleaners, the transverse rotor Models R66 and R76 also gained multiple updates including a new cab with a more powerful lighting package to help operators handle fast-moving nighttime harvest operations. Company extends portfolio of products made from rerefined oils

ConocoPhillips Company, Houston, introduced 76 Firebird Heavy Duty EC 15W40, the API CJ-4 upgrade of its diesel engine oil product made from rerefined base oils and a tailored, low SAPS (sulfated ash, phosphorus and sulfur) additive to meet lubrication requirements of the 2007 and later model year, low emissions diesel engines equipped with exhaust after-treatment devices. The product is also back serviceable for use in pre-2007 engines specifying lubricants of the previous API categories.

"With increased demand for API CJ-4 oils in the industry, and in particular by transit agencies and other public institutions subject to government mandates on the procurement and use of rerefined products, it made good business and environmental sense to introduce this product to our customers," said Reggie Dias, Director, Commercial Products, ConocoPhillips Company. "We have upgraded our popular and high-performing Firebird HD 15W40 to the CJ-4 level to give customers the option of using only one oil for an entire fleet, as well as providing a product that is applicable for both new and old engines."

76 Firebird Heavy Duty EC 15W40 is part of ConocoPhillips Company's environmentally responsible lubricant products line designed to conserve valuable, natural resources and help reduce the negative environmental impact from unregulated disposal of used oil. It is made from high-quality rerefined base oils that are produced in a multi-step, used oil rerefining process to deliver uncompromised performance relative to products made in virgin stocks.

76 Firebird Heavy Duty EC 15W40 meets federal, state and/or municipal requirements on the procurement and use of rerefined products by the public agencies and institutions. Additionally, it meets the latest heavy duty engine oil specifications of major engine builders for use in metro bus fleets, on-highway trucks and off-highway equipment and provides the following performance benefits:

--Soot control to disperse soot and minimize soot-caused oil thickening;

--Wear and corrosion protection to reduce engine wear and prolong engine life;

--Enhanced oxidation resistance and thermal stability to extend oil life.

"Today, a majority of collected used oil is utilized as burner fuel, which is a huge waste of an increasingly valuable material," says Dias. "Instead this used oil can be rerefined and utilized to create products like our 76 Firebird Lubricant, which helps to conserve valuable natural resources, protect the environment and promote corporate responsibility. It's a combination that works better for both our customers and the environment."
