SCREW ADJUST RESIDUE MANAGER--Yetter Manufacturing Co., Colchester, Ill., introduces an updated version of its Screw Adjust for Case New Holland planters. Yetter has adapted its CNH-compatible Screw Adjust design to accommodate a new down-pressure system on CNH planters. The mounting system for this Screw Adjust also adds clearance to adapt to the new CNH design. The new Screw Adjust residue manager for CNH planters offers the same, precise depth control and exclusive self-detent adjustment handle. This unique feature provides constant, accurate depth control, which promises acre after acre of unparalleled residue management. The self-detent handle also means working depth can be easily adjusted to remove varying amounts of residue depending on the condition. Product offers postemergence weed control

FMC Corporation, Philadelphia, now offers corn and soybean growers a new option for selective postemergence control of tough broadleaf weeds in corn and soybeans with Cadet herbicide. Cadet delivers superior control of velvetleaf, pigweed, lambsquarters, waterhemp and nightshade.

Cadet is a reliable, effective tank-mix partner with a variety of other herbicides (including glyphosate) to provide a more cost-effective, broad spectrum of control for increased yields and higher profits.

Cadet provides target weed control at lower rates than competitive herbicides. At a standard rate of just 0.4 - 0.5 oz/A, growers can count on Cadet delivering superior postemergence activity on a variety of key weeds, including resistant biotypes.

Cadet is labeled for control of a variety of tough broadleaf weeds, including waterhemp, lambsquarters, pigweed, nightshade, jimsonweed, burcucumber, spurred anoda, and others. In addition, Cadet provides velvetleaf control (up to 36 inches in height).

Extensive field testing proves the efficacy that Cadet delivers. University and FMC studies show the efficacy of Cadet in controlling key weeds in large soybean plot trials. When applied at the recommended rates, Cadet provided nearly 100 percent control of velvetleaf. In addition, Cadet provided outstanding control of tall waterhemp and lambsquarters.

Cadet carries a 60-day pre-harvest interval (PHI) for soybeans and a 90-day PHI for corn. Growers should apply Cadet at rates ranging from 0.4 to 0.9 oz/A, depending on weed pressure and tank-mix partners. For enhanced weed spectrum, growers can apply Cadet as a tank mix with glyphosate or other postemergence herbicides approved for corn and soybeans.

Cadet herbicide is the latest addition to the expanding portfolio of products now available from FMC for corn and soybeans. The active ingredient in Cadet, fluthiacet-methyl, was discovered and developed by KUMIAI Chemical Industry Co., LTD. and IHARA Chemical Industry Co., LTD. FMC obtained the sole marketing rights for this product in the corn and soybean markets in the U.S.

Pioneer to treat its new soybean varieties with CruiserMaxx Beans

In 2008, the newly released soybean varieties introduced by Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont business, will be treated with a CruiserMaxx Beans brand seed treatment from Syngenta Seed Care, offering soybean growers a powerful combination of traits and pest protection.

Don Schafer, senior marketing manager, Pioneer Hi-Bred, explained treating Pioneer soybeans with CruiserMaxx Beans will maximize the high yield potential of the company's new variety releases. "We are treating all of them with CruiserMaxx Beans to amplify early-season disease protection and protect the varieties from pests such as bean leaf beetle and soybean aphid," Schafer said.

The new varieties from Pioneer will offer performance a step above current market-leading varieties along with resistance and tolerance to many key pests. The automatic application of CruiserMaxx Beans to these new varieties will help protect the genetic yield potential in every seed.

"Syngenta Seed Care is excited to be teaming up with Pioneer to offer soybean growers this valuable package of genetics and on-the-seed pest protection," said Mark Jirak, crop manager, Syngenta Seed Care. "Since 2005, CruiserMaxx Beans has been effectively protecting high-value soybean seed against a wide range of early-season insects and diseases that have the ability to seriously damage genetic yield potential. Pioneer's commitment to treat these varieties is a testament to the reputation CruiserMaxx Beans has established in delivering enhanced plant stand, vigor, speed to canopy, and ultimately, improved yield potential."

CruiserMaxx Beans is an insecticide/fungicide seed treatment combination that offers growers protection against a broad-spectrum of early-season insects including soybean aphid, bean leaf beetle, seedcorn maggot and wireworm. In addition, it provides protection against all major seed- and soil-borne disease pathogens, including Pythium, early-season Phytophthora, Rhizoctonia, Fusarium, seed-borne Sclerotinia, seed-borne Phomopsis and general seed rots.

New system improves operation productivity

Trimble has introduced its Web-based Agriculture Manager asset management system which combines Global Positioning Systems (GPS), machine sensors and automated wireless communications that allows farmers to more efficiently manage and operate large machinery fleets.

The new Trimble Agriculture Manager system is designed to help farming operations, agriculture retailers and others automatically track their fleet's precise GPS location, operating status and real-time productivity--all critical factors during peak fieldwork seasons.

The Agriculture Manager system is part of Trimble's Connected Farm suite of information management tools. Connected Farm solutions take the stress out of data management through seamless field-to-office information management.

Trimble's Agriculture Manager system offers fleet managers a range of map views and field reports via their desktop computers. Information may include real-time location to improve "next job" dispatching, run time versus down time, machine hours for servicing and spray tank levels. Operators can track the day's productivity with sensors that log spray pump or combine separator "on versus off" times, and alerts can be created when a vehicle enters or exits a pre-defined area. The system can also automatically notify fleet managers via cell phone if key events occur, such as vehicle servicing required, sprayer needs refilling or ignition off. One or two-way data messaging is available via a Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) in the field vehicle.
