WIRELESS REMOTE KEY--Agri-Cover, Inc., Jamestown, N.D., now offers a universal remote kit system for electric spool roll tarps or side locking tarp systems. The wireless remote kit allows any user to safely and efficiently operate the electric roll tarp system from the comfort of his cab, eliminating down time in the field and increasing production. The universal remote kit can be purchased for any existing electric roll tarp system. The remote kit is quick and easy to install and includes a sealed, weather resistant control box; a manual control switch for an alternative operating method; and two wireless remote key fobs. Additionally it comes with a hardware kit, mounting template and instructions. For more information, call 800-233-4655, or visit www.agricover.com.

RATE CONTROLER--John Deere now offers the GreenStar 2 (GS2) Rate Controller with compatibility with certain NH3 and liquid fertilizer applications. The new delivery system means an operator controls fertilizer application using the color touch-screen GS2 display without a second console in the cab. The GS2 display is a multi-function unit that also provides controls and information for precision guidance, mapping and documentation of fields and inputs, and Swath Control Pro. This display integrates with John Deere vehicles and can easily be moved from machine to machine. For more information, call a local John Deere dealer, or visit www.JohnDeere.com/Ag.

SEALERS--Yetter Manufacturing Company, Colchester, Ill., now offers the SharkTooth wheel for its Max Sealer Plus. The Max Sealer Plus closes seed trenches by moving residue and loose soil over the channel created by the openers. The SharkTooth wheel performs in tough conditions and the design eliminates residue buildup. Straight blades on the Max Sealer Plus close the trench, and it is available with several other blade options, including smooth or notched 18-inch concave blades, and 13 shallow-wave and 8-wave blades. Growers can select the blade best suited for their operation. In addition, the Max Sealer Plus works well in conjunction with Yetter Manufacturing Company's original SharkTooth wavy blade design. For more information, call 800-447-5777, or visit www.yetterco.com.

FLATBED TRAILERS--GoBob Pipe & Steel, Bixby, Okla., introduces the Red Rhino gooseneck flatbed trailer, engineered and constructed to reduce metal fatigue for longer life. The frame, side rails and cross-members are all recctangular tubing, for stronger, more rigid construction without added weight. All Red Rhino flatbed trailers are built with a steel pipe torsion tube. This torsion tube substantially reduces the amount of flex that is placed on the main beams when the trailer is being loaded from the side. Additionally, Red Rhino's double hinged equalizing stabilizers on the ramps eliminate the torsion and flex on the entire trailer when being loaded from the rear. Herbicide controls grass, broadleaf weeds in winter wheat

Dow AgroSciences, Indianapolis, Ind., announced it has received federal registration for new POWERFLEX herbicide or use in winter wheat. Containing pyroxsulam, a new active ingredient, POWERFLEX provides excellent control of tough grass weeds, including downy brome, cheat, Italian ryegrass and wild oats, plus broadleaf weed control.

POWERFLEX controls a broad spectrum of difficult grasses and broadleaf weeds in winter wheat, including downy brome, cheat, Italian ryegrass, wild oats, Russian thistle, pigweed, chickweed and cleavers. POWERFLEXª herbicide also controls many mustard species, such as field pennycress, flixweed (tansy mustard), shepherdspurse, Jim Hill (tumble) mustard and blue mustard.

POWERFLEX offers growers improved crop rotation flexibility versus most other winter wheat herbicides. For example, it contains a short nine-month interval for rotating into crops like soybeans, sorghum, peas, lentils, sugar beets, corn, potatoes, canola and sunflowers in all geographies. Even shorter intervals for certain crops will be allowed in specific geographies.

POWERFLEX can be applied postemergence to actively growing winter wheat in either fall or spring. Monte Weimer, product technology specialist for Dow AgroSciences, recommends applying 3.5 oz./A of POWERFLEX to grass weeds between the two-leaf and two-tiller stages of growth, though its flexibility allows application on wheat from the three-leaf to the jointing stage with excellent crop safety.

"Through an innovative new molecule, POWERFLEX brings a new standard of performance for grass and weed control in winter wheat and will be a critical component for growers to achieve effective weed control in winter wheat," Weimer says. "POWERFLEX will help provide growers with cleaner fields, which can lead to higher yields and reduced dockage at harvest."
