State Officer Candidate Information

Running for Kansas FFA Office

One of the most rewarding experiences a member can have is serving the Kansas FFA Association as a Kansas FFA officer. Often there is a great deal of responsibility that comes with the most rewarding experiences you have in your life. As such, choosing to run for this office requires much time and consideration.

The year of serving as a state officer is a year of personal growth, commitment to others, and passion. As such, the decision to run for a state office is not to be made lightly or without a sincere commitment to serve. Kansas FFA officers have great responsibility to the state and their duties often require extensive travel. Days away from home and school are expected of all members of the team. While the Kansas FFA Association pays for the travel expenses incurred by state officers in the performing of their duties, officers routinely incur minor personal expenses that are not reimbursed.

Serving as a Kansas FFA officer is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The professionalism, charisma, and engaging abilities of state officers is the result of dynamic training that enables them to effectively lead our state. In their year of service, state officers develop lifelong friendships with each other as well as members across our state and country.

Students who desire to dedicate a year of service to Kansas FFA should consider participating in the selection process by running for a state office. The process examines the character and traits of each candidate and reveals the individuals who will continue to add to the success of the Kansas FFA Association.

If you have any questions about the duties of a state FFA officer, please visit with your chapter advisor or contact the Kansas FFA Association.
