Kansas FFA Foundation Adds New Executive Director

The Kansas FFA Foundation is pleased to announce the hiring of Jake Worcester as its Executive Director. The addition of its first full-time staff person will position the Foundation to pursue its goals of supporting agricultural education and the Kansas FFA Association.

"Bringing enthusiasm, creativity and a background in not-for-profit fundraising make Jake Worcester a great choice to lead the Kansas FFA Foundation," said Jerrod Westfahl, chairman of the Kansas FFA Foundation Board of Trustees. "We look forward to working with Jake in moving the Foundation forward in its support of Kansas FFA members."

The hiring of a full-time director is the Foundation's first step toward raising over $450,000 in its initial three years to serve Kansas FFA members. By investing this money in leadership and career skills development efforts, the Foundation partners will have a direct impact on the future leadership of Kansas.

"I am extremely pleased and excited to be back on the 'FFA team,'" said Worcester. "I look forward to helping Kansas FFA continue to grow and increase its impact on Kansas FFA members."

Worcester's experience in agricultural education has been extensive. A native of Hill City, he served as president of the same local FFA chapter his father had been active in. While an agricultural economics student at Kansas State University, Worcester served as Kansas FFA Vice President.

"FFA is extraordinarily valuable to students in Kansas," said Worcester. "It continues to be relevant, challenging, and educational. Most importantly, FFA is preparing leaders for the future of the agriculture industry and rural Kansas."

Worcester's duties will include day-to-day operations of the Foundation, identifying and soliciting new partners for the Kansas FFA Association and agricultural education programs, and building support for Kansas FFA throughout the state business community.

The mission of the Kansas FFA Foundation is to enable Kansas Agriculture Education and FFA programs to EMPOWER FUTURE LEADERS AND THEIR PASSIONS. The Kansas FFA Foundation will do this by developing and sustaining collaborative relationships resulting in financial support and service opportunities.

The mission of the National FFA Organization is to make a postive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premiere leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
