Youth Livestock Program Update: EID Tags, KSF Livestock Show, Nominations

(1) EID Tags

Several nomination forms have been received that did not include the bar code of the EID number.  The tags that you are using from pre-2013 only had one set of the labels with them. If you used the labels for county forms, you should copy those labels and use the copy to tape on the state nomination form.  If you did not copy or do not have the labels, David Kehler can create new ones for you. Just let him know if he can help you with this. The bags that were sent to you this year have two sets of labels so you have one for county use and one for state use.  We suggest that the second set of labels be kept in a file so it is available to put on the nomination form when it is signed.

Also, please be sure to review the "Small Livestock Tagging Tips" on the website as there has been additional information added for your convenience. There is also a "May 2013 EID Update" on the EID page for you to look at, as well.

(2) Kansas State Fair Livestock Check-In and Show Times

A document taken from the no-yet-complete Kansas State Fair book has been added to the website that has all check-in and show times for livestock.

(3) Livestock Nominations

Commercial heifer, swine, sheep, and meat goat nominations must be POSTMARKED by June 15. All corrections to market beef nominations must be postmarked by this date as well. A list of received nominations is on the website and is updated frequently. All families are sent a confirmation letter after I received their nomination paperwork letting them know whether their nomination is complete or not. If it is not complete, there is a $10 Incomplete Nomination Fee and directions for them to complete the nomination are provided.
