I Believe
Beginning with the phrase “I believe in the future of agriculture,” the creed embodies the common goal of all involved with the organization – building the future of our youth and the future of the agricultural industry. Not able to wear the blue corduroy any more? You still have the opportunity to help ensure that agriculture “can and will hold true to the best traditions of our national life.” And you will help a student grow and learn skills that will serve him or her long after retiring the jacket.
Past and Present Generations
Since 1928, the National FFA Organization has grown to a membership of more than 490,000 students. Chartered by Congress in 1950, FFA is an intracurricular part of agricultural education providing students with applied experience through supervised agricultural experience programs and unparalleled opportunities for leadership and personal development.
The Kansas FFA Association currently has more than 7,300 members in over 165 local chapters. Six students elected to state officer positions lead the association and provide leadership training to members across the state.
Agricultural Pursuits
The organization that started as “Future Farmers of America” remains true to its production agriculture roots while expanding and growing it curriculum focus to include science, business management, technology and leadership. FFA alumni are now serving as leaders in government, business, public service and other aspects applying the skills they developed as agricultural education students.
Promise of Better Days Through Better Ways
As government funding for Ag Ed/FFA programs continues to be threatened, the Kansas FFA Foundation seeks to build private industry support for the association. The foundation serves as a connection between private industry and student members while developing a base of support that will ensure the association will continue growing and serving its members.
How can you help?
