The La Crosse FFA Chapter has been around since 1937 and started with 17 members. The chapter prides itself on being the largest student organization in the high school.

Each year La Crosse FFA participates in Dairy Cattle, Dairy Foods, Parliamentary Procedure, Greenhand Conference, Horse Evaluation, Ag Mechanics, Ag Sales, Job Interview, Public Speaking, Livestock Evaluation, Entomology and Food Science CDEs. The individuals and teams routinely finish in the Top 5 at competitions and devote many hours of practice to reach this level.

Our chapter prides itself in giving all of it's members the opportunity to participate and excel in an area of their choice. Courses offered in the Ag Department at La Crosse High School are Agriscience, Animal Science, Plant Science, Agribusiness, Ag Mechanics, Advanced Ag Mechanics and Current and Career Events in Agriculture. In addition, 8th graders spend nine weeks in the ag classroom. These courses prepare students to enter into a variety of fields in college or upon entering the workforce.

Each year our students travel to the National FFA Convention and the National Western Stock Show. Also, visit numerous college campuses throughout the year including Kansas State, Garden City Community College, Dodge City Community College and Seward County Community College. These travel opportunities offer students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of agriculture and visit schools where they may pursue their college education.

La Crosse FFA is tradition rich program that is working on resurrecting itself into an active chapter that focuses on student, community, and school needs.
