Holly Martin High Plains Journal
Dear Wheat Grower,
We are in a dynamic time in the
agriculture industry. Now, more than
ever, we know that it is important for
you to capitalize on every opportunity.
In order to do that, you need the
latest information and the best strategies
for your farm. We want you to
be able to maximize profi ts on your winter wheat acres through
intensive management and improved production.
Each and every week, High Plains Journal strives to bring
important and timely stories to your home so that you may stay
informed. We know that continuing education is high on your list
of priorities, so you may fi nd the best practices for your farm. I
enjoy it when our readers call and tell me that something they
read in the Journal has made a positive difference on their farm.
When that happens, I know we have done our job well.
In that same light, Bayer CropScience, High Plains Journal and
KFRM teamed up to hold the 2009 Profi t Maximizer Wheat Summit.
The event was designed to bring top-notch speakers to wheat
growers to help them meet their goal of maximizing profi ts. The
attendees spent the day learning new and innovative ways to
grow wheat from other growers, as well as industry experts. The
event met the same high standards of quality information that we
utilize in the Journal each week.
This supplement to the Journal shares with all our readers what
the growers were able to hear that day. I know that you will fi nd
it as valuable as they did.
Looking ahead, we want you to know that High Plains Journal
looks forward to being your partner. Your success is our goal.

Dear Wheat Grower,
We understand the work it takes to
grow a profitable winter wheat crop
because at Bayer CropScience, we
are working alongside you. Whether
your demand is a strong, disease-free
seedling for fast-breaking emergence,
fewer weeds for a higher yield, or foliar and head disease
control for increased grain quality, we are committed to meeting
your specific crop solution needs to help chart your course toward
greater profits and greater sustainability.
Properly selecting crop inputs for geography, climate and competitive
factors goes a long way to maximizing a crop’s potential.
For you to stay profitable, you need to find innovative ways to
deal with ever-changing factors and ever-increasing demands.
That’s why Bayer CropScience is dedicated to developing new
innovations. Bayer CropScience is one of only two manufacturers
conducting herbicide discovery research and development
and one of just four companies bringing extensive innovation to
fungicides and insecticides in cereals.
The result of these innovations is a portfolio that U.S. growers
can select from to create a customized wheat management crop
solution program from seed to harvest based on their individual
needs. When the Bayer CropScience lineup of seed treatments,
weed control and disease management products are used in
combination with intensive wheat production practices, the results
have the potential to be significant.
The Profit Maximizer Wheat Summit was designed to bring
Kansas and Oklahoma wheat growers just that combination of
information on crop protection innovations and intensive production
practices. We hope that through attendance at the daylong
event and this special publication, you will be able to adopt
recommendations from the experts’ presentations as part of your
vision to achieve more on your wheat acres.
As we travel forward, Bayer CropScience is committed to your
individual success as part of the entire industry’s success. Together,
our progress can and will feed a nation and support the globe.
