The supply was moderate and included 5% springer heifers, 15% bred heifers, 30% open heifers, 6% fresh and milking cows, 8% bred and springer cows, and 5% calves. South Central direct sheep
The South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending April 25, showed receipts of 1,700 feeder lambs, 300 slaughter lambs, and 300 slaughter meat goats, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder lambs were steady. Feeder lambs: Texas, 1700 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, new crop 70 to 90 lbs., 114.00 to 115.00.
Sioux Falls sheep sales
Compared to last week, slaughter lambs sold steady to weak on a light test, slaughter ewes sold steady. Receipts included 51% slaughter ewes, 39% feeder lambs and 10% slaughter lambs. Slaughter ewes: Good 2 to 3, 10 head, 157 to 159 lbs., 26.50 to 28.50 (27.69); 163 to 194 lbs., 24.50 to 27.00 (25.38).
Sioux Falls feeder pigs
This is the first sale in several weeks with sufficient receipts to report, therefore, trends were not applicable. All sales were based on actual weight and by the head. U.S. 2 to 3: 29 head, 30 lbs., 15.00; 39 head, 37 lbs., 16.00; 28 head, 45 lbs., 22.00; 67 to 69 lbs., 25.00 to 30.00 (29.23).
