Special features make Abilene a knock outThe Abilene (D6805) has a tiled roof with a uniquely covered veranda, visible behind archways. This home has two stories with the master suite downstairs and the other three bedrooms upstairs. It has the accented facade of a southwestern home, but would fit in any part of the country. Crossing the beautiful veranda, one enters into the formal foyer of the Abilene. Just beyond the entry are the staircase to the second floor and also an optional staircase that could go to a basement, if one is desired. To the right of the foyer is the formal dining room. There is a large archway from the foyer and a smaller one at the rear that goes into the kitchen. A large window overlooks the veranda in the front and the room has an added amenity of a built-in hutch that runs the length of one wall. This would be ideal to display one's best dishes or collectibles. The kitchen occupies the left rear corner of the Abilene along with the breakfast nook, the utility, and a half-bath. The kitchen has a corner walk-in pantry as well as a Lazy Susan between the range and the dual sinks. This makes getting spices, canned goods, and the perishables easier to reach. Facing the breakfast nook is a snack bar. The nook has bay windows that provide extra sunlight. A built-in desk is on the opposite wall with the half-bath behind. A cozy feature that adds warmth to both the breakfast nook and the Great Room is a see-through fireplace in the back corner. Along with this extra, the Great Room has two large windows across the back, overlooking the back yard, and a door to the covered patio. It is also open to the roof with an 18-foot ceiling. Opening off the Great Room is the master suite. It runs the full length of the left side of the Abilene. It has a huge master bath with an oversized shower, a whirlpool tub, and dual sinks. A large walk-in closet behind sliding doors will hold an ample supply of 'his' and 'her' clothes. Upstairs is dedicated to the three remaining bedrooms, each with a wall closet and large windows. A full bath with a tub and single sink is located at the end of the hall next to bedroom 4. As extra space, a storage room has been added. A built-in plant shelf is over the foyer for added decoration. For a study plan of the ABILENE (D6805), send $15, to Landmark Designs, 33127 Saginaw Rd.
