SMALL FRAME TRACTORS—Massey Ferguson, a brand of AGCO, now offers four new small frame tractors in the 7600 Series of row crop tractors. The new tractors have a redesigned, ergonomic cab with OptiRide cab suspension, for improved comfort and easier operation. All four models, including the MF7614, MF7615, MF7616 and MF7618 feature Tier 4 interim emissions-compliant AGCO POWER 6.6 liter engines. For more information, call a local dealer, or visit www.masseyferguson.us/products/tractors.

IMPROVED SOFTWARE—Case IH Advanced Farming Systems software has been improved to offer more functionality and capacity. Case IH worked with Farm Works information management solutions. The software now offers customers the ability to mark field maps with lagoons, highways or other obstacles; create yield maps to track yields and manage guidance lines; and develop prescriptions based on those yields. The AFS View allows producers to view and track data with a customized list of farms and fields, which can then be shared with precision farming devices for data management. AFS View can also be used to build a list of clients, farms, field names and inputs. For more information, call a local dealer, or visit www.caseih.com.

Software collects harvest information in real time

HarvestMaster, a division of Juniper Systems, announces Mirus harvest data collection software as the latest addition to its research agriculture solutions offering. Mirus is an all-in-one software designed to collect and view harvest data in real time. The Mirus software is compatible with the industry leading HarvestMaster HM800 GrainGage systems.

"The HarvestMaster team is excited about the release of the new Mirus software," said Keith Hunt, Agriculture Product Manager. "As an all-in-one software solution, Mirus has come together as a culmination of user input and the latest technologies available. We believe Mirus to be the new standard in harvest data collection software."

Mirus features include large, easy-to-read screens, capable of showing multiple data screens simultaneously for more efficient operation. Step-by-step calibration wizards for all sensors ensure easy calibration of the GrainGage system. The intuitive user interface of Harvest Master's Mirus software is tailored to combine operators, promising ease-of-use and simple adoption into harvest data collection processes.

Mirus software has become the new standard in harvest data collection by providing the following:

--Compatibility with Windows laptops and tablets running Windows XP, 7, or 8

--Ability to generate and import maps, and collect and export data

--Simultaneous views of four different harvest information screens

--Graphical and spatial display of data

--Ease of viewing diagnostic screens while in harvest mode

--Step-by-step wizards for weight, moisture, and test weight sensor calibration

--Combine operator rated observations

--Operator Quick-Notes on individual plots

New formulation technologies reduce environmental impact

MANA Crop Protection announced its KlearSky Technology brand, which represents advanced formulation technology that embodies a range of attributes to deliver high performance and reduced impact on the environment. KlearSky Technology sets a new standard in formulation technology by encompassing the superior efficacy of conventional active ingredients while lowering product emissions and enhancing the handler experience through such features as lower odor, fewer personal protective equipment requirements and/or reduced signal word.

MANA products currently carrying the KlearSky designation include Paradigm, Vulcan and ABBA Ultra insecticides. All of these brands deliver reduced environmental impact and improved handling characteristics while proven to perform as well or better than the market standard. The marketing materials for these products will carry the KlearSky logo and description.

MANA introduces the KlearSky Technology brand as a means of indicating formulations that crop consultants, retailers, distributors and growers can rely on for high performance, a reduced impact on the environment and less restrictive handling requirements.

Paradigm touts an advanced formulation for fast-acting insect control at performance levels equal to conventional lambda-cyhalothrin products.

Vulcan is the first advanced chlorpyrifos products of its kind - allowing excellent speed of insect knockdown at the same high levels of control found in the market standard.

ABBA Ultra minimizes environmental concerns by reducing impact on air quality, and it has twice the concentration of active ingredient so applicators simply use half the rate of standard abamectin formulations.

MANA Crop Protection will be adding Bumper ES fungicide and Fanfare ES insecticide to its KlearSky Technology portfolio for the 2013 season.

Antimicrobial now available in new size vial

EXCEDE (ceftiofur crystalline free acid) Sterile Suspension is now available in a 250 mL vial. The larger bottle offers the same extended therapy producers have come to count on to treat and control bovine respiratory disease (BRD) and foot rot in cattle.

"Producers across the country already know they can count on EXCEDE for extended therapy," says Lee Bob Harper, DVM, associate director, Pfizer Animal Health, Cattle and Equine Technical Services. "Now, the larger bottle makes EXCEDE an even more convenient part of a BRD management solution for producers."

EXCEDE is a top choice for beef producers, providing seven days of antimicrobial therapy for BRD and foot rot in a single dose. In addition to reducing the total number of treatments needed and helping to minimize labor and treatment costs, it is also effective against three of the major bacterial pathogens commonly associated with BRD--Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida and Histophilus somni--and two of the primary foot rot-causing bacteria, Fusobacterium necrophorum and Porphyromonas levii.

"The small dose volume of EXCEDE, at just 1.5 milliliters per hundredweight, means the product already offers more doses per bottle than most other leading antimicrobials," Dr. Harper says. "With the EXCEDE 250 mL option, producers will be able to treat more cattle per bottle, meaning they can more efficiently treat cattle, save space on their medicine shelf and produce less waste."

Silage products debut for 2013

The 2013 lineup of DEKALB Silage Proven products provide high-quality feed with improved digestibility for dairy and beef cattle. With industry-leading genetics, their high level of nutritional quality and high-tonnage yield potential help farmers produce more milk per acre and more milk per ton.

Among these top-performing products are DEKALB Genuity VT Triple PRO DKC61-88 brand, which is new to the Silage Proven lineup for 2013, and DEKALB Genuity SmartStax DKC53-45RIB blend brand. Both products give dairy and beef producers the high-performance silage quality they demand and another option for maximizing productivity on their farms.

"DEKALB Silage Proven products are screened to attempt to deliver the highest-yielding and highest nutritional-value products to the marketplace," said Mark Richhart, DEKALB dairy and silage specialist. "Only products that provide high net energy for lactation and higher tonnage are designated as Silage Proven."

For higher quality feed, farmers are also encouraged to combine DEKALB Silage Proven products with DEKALB brand Genuity Roundup Ready Alfalfa to get more high quality hay per acre that can lead to higher quality milk products.

Silage Proven corn products also offer growers a broad selection of built-in traits that provide protection against pests like corn rootworms, corn borers and corn earworms, along with tolerance to Roundup brand agricultural herbicides in a single seed.
