New Holland has launched the latest generation of CX8000 elevation conventional combines. The combines deliver unmatched straw quality and the cleanest grain sample for large-scale farmers and custom harvesters. The Opti-Fan system, standard on both the CX8080 and CX8090 models, compensates for the impact of up and downhill slopes on harvesting performance. The operator sets the fan speed on level ground and the system automatically adjusts it when the harvester goes up or downhill. The standard Opti-Clean system improves cleaning performance up to 20 percent. The system has been engineered to increase operator comfort and reduce machine vibration. The CX8000 Elevation features Opti-Speed straw walker technology, which delivers up to 10 percent more productivity on slopes. The system automatically varies the straw walker speed based on the field's slope. The operator can select from four pre-sets--wheat, corn, canola and rice--and the Opti-Speed system takes care of the rest. The unloading speed now tops 3.5 bushels a second and 14 percent faster than previous to ensure the largest grain tank is emptied in just over 90 seconds. For more information, see a dealer or visit

They can hold a couple hundred pounds of ration and are easy for the cattle to reach. They’ll give them away for free to anyone who picks them up at their facility, which is 10 miles north of Park. Also, DD Mats has a large quantity of tire sidewalls that can be used for silo covers. DD Mats will give them away, excluding freight costs, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Seed company expands soybean lineup

DuPont Pioneer, Des Moines, Iowa, has added 40 Pioneer brand T Series soybean varieties for 2014 the planting season.

The varieties have been targeted to meet specific grower needs and matched to local environments.

Below are notable varieties in the T Series soybean product lineup, which have already passed local research and product testing:

—P19T60R (RR)—A late group I variety that features strong agronomic characteristics while still delivering top-end yield potential. It has the 1c gene for Phytophthora resistance in addition to favorable field tolerance. It also carries soybean cyst nematode protection and respectable tolerance to iron chlorosis and sudden death syndrome.

—P22T69R (RR)—A group II variety with exceptional yield potential. Peking source SCN resistance, 1k Phytophthora resistance and solid agronomic traits all come together in this star product.

—P24T19R (RR) —This mid-group II variety is a widely adapted product. It features SCN and Phytophthora resistance plus good tolerance to SDS and iron chlorosis.

—P32T80PR (Plenish/RR)— An early Group III maturity product with the Plenish high oleic oil trait for contract production. Yield potential is comparable to other Pioneer varieties. Displays SCN resistance, good standability and canopy width traits.

—P35T58R (RR)—This product brings outstanding yield potential along with sound agronomic and defensive traits for growers looking for a mid-group III maturity soybean

—P47T36R (RR)—This mid-late Group IV maturity product features outstanding SCN resistance, standability and the stem canker resistance gene as well as good tolerance to sudden death syndrome.

As final product advancements are made additional varieties will join the lineup for 2014 planting. This expanded lineup will also include products with the Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield trait.

Pioneer provides a broad range of soybean variety options with top-end yield potential plus strong agronomic and defensive traits. To help maximize your investment, Pioneer recommends adding Pioneer Premium Seed Treatment (PPST). With the addition of PPST, Pioneer brand soybean varieties are fully loaded, protecting the genetic package and providing an extra level of protection against early-season insects and diseases.

New canola hybrid available

Northstar Agri Industries, a subsidiary of PICO Holdings, Inc., Fargo, N.D., and the first purpose-built canola processing facility in the United States, and Bayer CropScience, the innovators of InVigor canola seed, have announced the addition of the InVigor L252 hybrid to the Northstar Star Growers’ high oil contract.

The Northstar contract pays growers an extra 5 percent on the first 1,250 pounds per acre of grain, according to Northstar officials. The seed must yield at least 2 percent to 3 percent more oil when crushed over others to even be considered for entry. Recently launched for the 2014 growing season, L252 is the first InVigor hybrid with premium-level oil content. This mid- to full-maturing hybrid offers early-season vigor, outstanding yield and the highest rating for blackleg resistance. L252 features the LibertyLink trait, which gives farmers an alternative to glyphosate-tolerant systems and a tool to fight herbicide resistance. Northstar Agri Industries is a subsidiary of PICO Holdings, Inc. The fully integrated canola processing and refining plant near Hallock, Minn., is the first canola processing plant in the state of Minnesota.
