Farmers looking to leverage field data and expertise from local advisor partners now have access to MyAgCentral, which is designed to bridge the gap between farmers and local advisors, allowing both to more easily exchange data and develop plans using a single online dashboard. The dashboard lets the farmer pull data from different sources so they can see their whole operation using one login and one tool. The cloud-based system allows both the farmer and advisors to securely access and share field data, reports, recommendations, plans, and maps from any location using any web-enabled device. The system was developed to enhance the relationships among farmers, agri-retailers and local advisors. For more information, call 888-858-3286 or visit www.My AgCentral.com.

New BRD vaccine approved for cattle

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved use of PULMO-GUARD PH-M, a vaccine used in preventing bovine respiratory disease (BRD) caused by Mannheimia haemolytica and Pasteurella multocida that is marketed by AgriLabs of St. Joseph, Mo.

Made with a low-reactive, water-soluble adjuvant, PULMO-GUARD PH-M is easy on animals and offers exceptional effectiveness.

Researchers conducted field studies on PULMO-GUARD PH-M, and found minimal swelling at the site of vaccination and no adverse reactions. About one-third of the calves studied were 30-day-old Holstein calves. Research in 2-month-old beef calves challenged with M. haemolytica showed those vaccinated with PULMO-GUARD PH-M had 80 percent fewer lung lesions and lower mortality than non-vaccinated calves.

PULMO-GUARD PH-M is packaged in ready-to-use, 10-dose and 50-dose packages. It offers improved syringeability and subcutaneous administration. PULMO-GUARD brand vaccines are part of AgriLabs’ portfolio of vaccines available.

FDA approves fixed time AI product

Dairy producers can improve the reproductive performance of their herds with approved products from Zoetis for fixed-time artificial insemination. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved FACTREL (gonadorelin hydrochloride) Sterile Solution for use with LUTALYSE (dinoprost tromethamine) Sterile Solution to synchronize estrous cycles to allow for fixed-time artificial insemination in lactating dairy cows.

Artificial inseminatin synchronization programs have grown in popularity since their introduction via university research in the 1990s. FDA approval of FACTREL for use with LUTALYSE includes a flexible schedule, allowing veterinarians to customize breeding programs for their dairy clients.

With flexible, approved use of Zoetis products for fixed-time artificial insemination, veterinarians and producers now can use LUTALYSE, the most veterinarian-recommended and producer-used prostaglandin in the marketplace, on label with FACTRELin many of the synchronization protocols recommended by the Dairy Cattle Reproduction Council.

Easy-to-use app for growing season

A mobile app featuring three agronomy tools is available to help growers with this season’s management decisions. The Pioneer Field360 Tools app from DuPont Pioneer features the growing degree unit, precipitation, and growth stage estimators.

This new app combines analysis tools and real-time data. Growers are able to track multiple field scenarios, including progress of the crop with a growth stage estimator, view precipitation forecasts and daily precipitation, calculate GDUs and key crop stages. The Pioneer Field360 Tools app can also estimate harvest dates for each Pioneer brand corn hybrid planted.

Part of the Pioneer Field360 services offering, this app can be located by searching Field360 in the App Store. The app will be upgraded with additional best-in-class agronomy tools as they are available. An Android version of the app is expected to be available at the Google Play Store.

Growers can also go to pioneer.com/360 to access the Pioneer Field360 Tools app and other Pioneer applications such as Pioneer Field360 Notes app and the Plantability app.
