Poplar has significant curb appeal

Soaring columns, support the Poplar's (333-080) dramatic portico. Decorative brickwork and a lavish use of glass add significantly to the home's curb appeal.

This medium-size two-story home boasts more than 2,500 square feet of living space. Garage and storage is another 700 square feet, and an undeveloped full basement tacks on another 1,400 square feet that could be developed.

All of the rooms on the main floor are bright and spacious. Ceilings in the living room and entry are almost two stories high. An arched transom increases illumination in the entry, while narrow transoms rim the tops of all the windows in the vaulted den and living room.

In the living room, a curved hearth wraps around the corner fireplace and wood box. Behind the fireplace, an open stairway winds up to a landing that overlooks the living room.

Skylights brighten the large family kitchen. In the bayed nook, the ceiling is vaulted. Natural light is sufficient here on all but the darkest days. The kitchen sink is seated in an L-shaped counter that serves as an eating bar. Storage space is ample, with one entire wall designated as pantry. A half-bathroom is just a few steps away.

The utility room is also large. Features here include a clothes chute, cabinets, counter, and a closet for hanging clothes. The adjacent garage has what everyone is looking for, extra storage space and a shop.

Serving as an adult retreat, the luxurious master suite is well isolated from the hustle and bustle of daily activities. And it has vaulted ceilings and skylights in both the bedroom and bathroom. Other amenities include a large walk-in closet, oversized shower and two vanities.

Upstairs, three bedrooms share a large sky lit bathroom with a spa tub, a feature not usually found outside of the master suite. All three bedrooms have vaulted ceilings.
