Sturdy National Velvet has modern interior

The stately National Velvet (335-990), built with a sturdy brick exterior, is definitely a home designed with the approaching twenty-first century in mind. Open spaces, modern conveniences and myriad windows are the signature style of this impressive dwelling. It will take a wide lot (108 feet) to properly construct the well-planned 3,488 square foot National Velvet.

Two doors are directly to the left of the entry. The first opens into a roomy home office complete with vaulted ceiling and big bay window. There is plenty of space here for a computer desk, filing cabinets, fax machine and chairs. The second door provides entry to the elegant master suite. Here are all the amenities you have ever dreamed of, including room for a king-sized bed and a cozy sitting room. A two-way fireplace warms both areas. Also in the luxurious suite are a built-in entertainment center, huge walk-in closet, security system and an enormous private bathroom with skylight, shower, spa and twin basins.

The two secondary bedrooms, on the opposite side of the entry, are equally as well appointed. They each boast generous closet space and a private bathroom.

The rear of the National Velvet is an original design featuring a vast open area with three vaulted semi-circular extensions. These are the living, dining and family rooms. Each of these projecting rooms is multi-windowed, offering a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape. Two built-in fireplaces provide warmth.

The kitchen area is an uncluttered walk-through configuration that the cook in the home will surely appreciate. In addition to built-in appliances, the many features here include a wet bar with small refrigerator, central island cooktop, raised dishwasher and walk-in pantry.

The 1,025 square foot, three-car garage has the added advantage of an indoor access that is located right next to a sizable utility room.
