Country style Gail makes excellent use of space

The floor plan of the Country style Gail (335-230) makes excellent use of the allotted 1,996 square feet. This three-bedroom, two-bath house with a handsome brick and wood exterior, has a Great Room as the central gathering place in the home. The true character of the design shines through as family and friends congregate for a holiday meal or just to share a relaxing weekend.

A built-in fireplace heats the Great Room, all 304 square feet of it, with a wood box on one side and entry closet on the other. The L-shaped kitchen opens right into this area for added convenience. An island cooktop with a raised eating bar is the only obstruction. The cook in the household can prepare a banquet, still participate in the conversation, and not miss any of the fun. In addition to the built-in appliances, the kitchen boasts a separate oven and walk-in pantry. A leisurely breakfast can be enjoyed in the comfortable nook.

Extending out from the house, the nook has windows on three sides. This not only gives you a pleasant view, it brightens the entire atmosphere. Located to the right of the skylit-covered entry, and available for more formal entertaining, is the dining room.

The large master suite, isolated for privacy, is loaded with amenities. They include personal access to a covered patio, private bathroom with twin basins, roomy walk-in closet, and an adjoining sitting room--a feature not often found in a floor design of this size.

Two good-sized bedrooms are on the opposite side of the house. They each possess liberal closet space and share a hallway bathroom. For empty nesters, one of these rooms might serve as guest accommodations and the second as a home office, den or sewing room.

If anyone in the house has a hobby or likes to tackle do-it-yourself projects, the two-car garage will become a favorite spot. Two workbenches have been installed to facilitate even the most difficult undertaking. A handy utility room is situated just inside the garage entrance to the house.
