Tollefson fits first-time builders or retirees

Is this the first time you have built a home or is it the last time now that you are retiring? In either case, the Tollefson (D6731) is an ideal home that meets both those needs. It has 1,335 square feet of open living space. The facade is a contemporary country home with a covered front porch with wood railings and beautifully arched windows. The roofline is simple yet attractive from the street.

Crossing the covered porch, the entry faces the large great room. On the right are stairs up to the unfinished 342-square-feet storage area and down to an unfinished basement. This is ideal for the new family that will be growing and needing more space in the future.

The beautiful great room has a huge fireplace on the rear wall with accent windows on each side of the hearth. For an added touch, the dining room and kitchen are up two steps above the great room. It separates them and yet because the area is open, they are open for conversations between occupants of the rooms.

The dining room has large windows overlooking the backyard, and patio doors open onto a covered porch at the back of the great room. The kitchen is "C"-shaped with a walk-in pantry in the corner and dual sinks facing the dining area.

The master suite and the other two bedrooms are on opposite sides of the Tollefson. The master suite is on the right with a 10-foot coffered ceiling. Windows are on each corner allowing the use of all the wall space possible for the bed and dressers. The master bath has a tub and a single sink.

Outside the master suite door are the washer and dryer behind folding doors and a closet ideal for storing linens. The door to the two-car garage is at the end of this hall.

On the left side of the entry is the hall that leads to bedrooms two and three and the bath between. Each bedroom has a long wall closet. Bedroom three has two large windows that overlook the front yard and bedroom two has window that looks out the side. The full bath has a tub and a single sink.
