Odd-shaped lots would suit Shelbi

In the new layouts of housing lots, corner lots that are pie-shaped need special homes that will have a side entrance from another street. The Shelbi (501-31) meets this need and is also an ideal home for the first time buyer or the empty nester. It has a great look from the street with two rooflines and large windows, as well as a covered porch. The two-car garage is in the rear, facing the right.

Once across the covered porch, the front door opens into the living room and dining room. Adjacent to the door is a large coat closet. The living and dining rooms have the option of being vaulted. This adds a more spacious feel to the rooms. The large window in the living room bathes the area with light. The dining room has sliding glass doors opening onto a patio. This would be an ideal area for those afternoon barbeques.

The kitchen faces the front and is in the shape of a .C.. It has a window over the double sinks that views the street and all that passes. An eating bar adjacent to the dining room is ideal for those fast breakfasts before school or work.

Two bedrooms are located on the left side of the Shelbi. Each have a large window as well as wall closets. A full bath for the two bedrooms is across from bedroom two. It has a tub and a single sink. Farther down the hall is an attic access door overhead, and at the end of the hall is the utility room. It is ideally located between the master suite and the other two bedrooms. It has a door that opens into the garage.

The master suite has one large window, a walk-in closet with a shoe rack, and a full bath with a tub and single sink. A pocket door closes off the walk-in closet while a regular door hides the bathroom.

This home would be an excellent starter home with its 1,152 square feet and the possibility of extra space in the form of an attic.
