Hidden amenities make Romnes special

This contemporary home is very deceptive to the eye. The Romnes (407-53) has great appeal with is various rooflines and the country styled porch. However, hidden underneath is a full basement with many amenities such as a shop for either the mechanic in the group or the hobby-oriented person. It has a regular garage door so it could also be used to store the toys for the family such as a boat, ski-doos, bikes, or even the wonderful tractors used to care for the grounds.

The entry to the Romnes is vaulted, as is the living room on the left and the dining room in the rear. The living room has three large windows down the outside wall with a fireplace in between. Adjacent to the dining room and at the rear of the living room is sun porch. It has sliding glass door from the living room and also opening onto the rear deck. The sun porch is surrounded with windows, ideal for meals year round and for enjoying the evening without those pesky bugs.

The kitchen is an "L" shaped design with cabinets on a separate island with the raised eating bar. Unique to this kitchen is the raised dishwasher, ideal for the cook who does not like to bend over to load the dishwasher. There is a walk-in pantry on one wall and large walk-in linen closet on the opposite wall.

All three bedrooms are on the main level. A shared bathroom is between bedrooms two and three, as well as the utility room adjacent. A pocket door separates the stairs to the basement from the utility. A door off the stair area goes down into the two-car garage.

The master suite faces the street and has a set of corner windows that add to the facade of the home. It has its own private bath with a tub and two sinks. A walk-in closet is next to the bathroom.

Downstairs in the walkout basement is a large family room with another fireplace. There is a wet bar with a sink and refrigerator. A full bath with an oversized shower and bench is centrally located to the rooms in the basement. Behind the bathroom is an office. The mechanical room is accessible through the office. The area is filled with extra storage cabinets.
