Gardenia mixes old with new

The beautiful facade of the Gardenia (409-41) combines a Tudor look with an old styled ranch house. It has a wrap around porch with twin dormers overhead. Shakes have been used to accent the face, as well as arched windows on both the dormers and the two-car garage. This two-story house has 2,946 square feet of living space as well as an attic with 346 square feet. The angled garage has 878 square feet with a workbench across the back and stairs to the attic on the side.

A brick planter wraps around the covered concrete porch and is adjacent to the garage. The entry is two French doors, opening into the vaulted great room. A gas fireplace is in the front with an entertainment center adjacent to the stairs. A large log beam separates the living room from the dining room as well as one between the dining room and the kitchen. These add a rustic look to the various areas.

The dining room opens into a large utility room with an extra refrigerator, drying rod, a sink, and a long folding area. It also has a half bath. The kitchen is long and open. It has an eating bar that faces the dining room. The cooktop, microwave oven, small pantry, refrigerator, Lazy Susan, dishwasher, and sink run around the wall in "C" shape.

To the left of the kitchen is a large sunroom with another gas fireplace and numerous windows. Through a door at the end of the kitchen counters is a large covered concrete patio with ceiling fans, ideal for those evening meals in the summer or the winter. There is also a planter across the face of this area. A patio beyond has built-in seats and planters.

French doors off the great room lead into the master suite. There is a bay window in the front and two windows on the left. An access to the entertainment center is on the right wall. The enormous walk-in closet is adjacent to the master bath with a vanity, corner hutch, sink, shower, spa tub, and a private stall.

Upstairs are the other two bedrooms along with a craft room at the end of the hall. Both bedrooms are vaulted. One bedroom has a walk-in closet while the other has a wall closet. They can access a full bath with two linen closets through pocket doors off each bedroom.
