Kitchen in Donald 1 has quite the view

Parents can cook dinner and still keep an eye on kids playing in the front yard in the Donald 1 (403-34). Multi-paned windows wrap around three sides of the unique half-octagon kitchen bay, offering a panoramic view of the neighborhood. On the exterior, the kitchen's octagonal protrusion creates one of several interesting roofline variations, which gives the home a Tudor look. Truncated gables and rough-sawn board trim on the stucco exterior add to the Tudor styling.

The kitchen is large with plenty of counter space and cabinet space. Located just inside the front door, handy for popping in to grab a snack, the kitchen also provides an open walkway to the dining area. An eating bar separates the kitchen area and the dining room, but the core of the plan is open, front to back. Less formal families might prefer combining the dining and living rooms into one big family room.

The living room has a large window overlooking the back yard as well as a set of sliding doors opening onto the patio. With the short distance to the kitchen, this makes a great spot for having friends over for barbecues or family gatherings.

The Donald 1 has a large master bedroom with double vanity sinks in the dressing room between the bathroom and walk-in closet. Pocket doors separate the bathing area and the walk-in closet from the rest of the suite. The main suite area because of its size is ideal for a large bed and extra dressers.

Two additional bedrooms beyond the master suite share a linen closet and a full bath, which is located across the hall. Each bedroom has wall closets and large windows supplying excellent light for playing or studying.

An opportunity space in the walk-through utility room can be used for sewing, hobbies, exercise machines or extra storage. There would room for the freezer or a built-in pantry if needed. A door opens into the garage as well as one opening on the side to the yard. There is also extra room for storage at the rear of this large two-car area.
