Chef:  Nadene Gardner - Amity, PA          Category:  Desserts

Ingredients:
2 sticks margarine
1/4 cup oil
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
3 eggs
3 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups flour
1 stick margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
4 cups powdered sugar
2 to 3 tablespoons water
2 to 3 tablespoons water

Directions: Beat 2 sticks margarine, oil, sugars, eggs, water and vanilla until creamy. Add dry ingredients, using flour to make a nice soft dough. Roll and cut out with cookie cutters in desired shapes. Bake at 350°F 8 to 10 minutes, remove from cookie sheets. Cool. Ice cookies with the following: Beat together 1 stick margarine, vanilla, cream of tartar, powdered sugar and water, until creamy. Make different colors. If icing becomes to stiff, add a little warm water.

Notes: This was my mothers favorite cookie recipe. She made them for all different holidays. I make them for our grandsons.
