Ham and Cheese Chowder

Ingredients:
3 potatoes, chopped
3 stalks celery
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 cup carrots, sliced
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3 cups water
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup butter
1 quart milk
1 pound sharp Cheddar cheese, chopped
2 cups cooked ham, chopped








Directions: Combine potatoes, celery, onion, carrots, salt, pepper and water in saucepan. Cook until vegetables are tender. Blend flour into melted butter in saucepan. Cook for several minutes. Stir in milk. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Add to vegetables with cheese and ham. Cook until heated through.

Notes: This is great for autumn and winter suppers!! Hearty and so good and warm. It can be kept warm in a crockpot.
