Chocolate Brownie Cookie Cake

Ingredients:
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 cup margarine
1 cup water
6 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Frosting
1/2 cup margarine
3 tablespoons cocoa
6 tablespoons canned milk
3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1ts teaspoon vanilla

1/2 to 1 cup chopped pecans

Directions: Mix flour and sugar; set aside. Bring margarine, water,and cocoa to boil in sauce pan. Pour into flour and sugar mixture and mix well. Add buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, baking soda and salt to mixture and mix well. Pour into a 15x10 inch pan that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray or greased and floured. Bake in 350°F oven for 25 minutes. Frost while warm. Frosting: Make frosting the last 5 minutes while cake is cooking. Heat margarine, cocoa; stir in milk, heat until warm. Do not boil. Beat in sugar and vanilla; add nuts and frost warm cake. Cool before cutting.

Notes: This recipe was given to me over 25 years ago by an elderly friend. I have made a few changes over the years, but it is still one of my favorites.
