Banana Bran Muffins

1/2 cup margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 medium ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup buttermilk
1-1/2 cups all purpose flour
1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups raisin bran
1 cup miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup pecans, chopped

Directions: In a mixing bowl, cream margarine and sugar. Add the eggs, bananas and buttermilk. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt, stir into creamed mixture just until moistened. Fold in the cereal, chocolate chips and pecans. Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake at 350°F for 23 to 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks. Yields 2 dozen.
