8-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons baking powder
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1-1/2 cups instant powdered milk
1-1/2 cups shortening
Directions: Combine flour, salt, soda, baking powder, cream of tartar, and dry milk. Blend well. With pastry blender, cut in shortening until mixture resembles cornmeal in texture. Store in airtight container. Makes about 13 cups. Use as you would any commerical mix.
Notes: As a variation, you may use half all-purpose flour and half wholewheat flour.
