Chocolate Cherry Cake

Ingredients:
1/2 cup margarine
1 egg
1-1/2 cups cake flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup maraschino cherries, chopped
1 cup sugar
2 (1 oz.) squares chocolate, melted
1 teaspoon soda
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons cherry juice
1/2 cup nuts









Directions: Soften shortening. Add sugar, cream well. Add egg, beat well. Stir in chocolate. Sift flour, salt and soda. Add to creamed ingredients with milk alternately. Beat smooth. Add cherries, juice and nuts. Bake in 8x8x2 inch pan at 350°F for 40 minutes.
