Spanish Rice, Pantry Style

Ingredients:
1 (46 oz.) can tomato juice
1 cup uncooked rice
2 cubes beef flavored bouillon cubes
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion flakes
1/2 lb. ground beef, uncooked
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 lb. cheese, grated, cooks choice












Directions: Put tomato juice, rice, bouillon, garlic and onion in a four quart pan. Bring to a slow boil and simmer for 15 or 20 minutes until the rice is tender. While this is cooking you can cook and drain the ground beef. After the rice is tender, add the ground beef and sugar. Top individual bowls with the grated cheese.

Notes: Add cornbread, bread, or crackers and your meal is ready in less than 30 minutes. An alternative is to cook 1-1/2 cups of macaroni in the tomato juice instead of the rice. Then add 1 tablespoon of oregano. You have a totally different meal. The ingredie
