Praline Drops

Ingredients:
1/2 cup margarine
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring
1-2/3 cups flour, sifted
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
pecan halves
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon corn syrup
1 tablespoon water
1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
1 tablespoon or more water






Directions: Cream margarine, add brown sugar and beat. Add egg, vanilla and maple flavoring, beat well. Add flour, soda and salt, mix until smooth. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheet and top with a pecan half. Bake at 350° F for 8 to10 minutes. Frost while warm. To make frosting boil 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon corn syrup, 1 tablespoon water stirring constantly, remove from heat and beat in 1 cup powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon or more of water. If you like brown sugar you will find these yummy! They are not as sugary sweet as a true Louisiana praline cookie.
