Ingredients:
1 3 to 4 lbs. lean beef brisket
2 tablespoons liquid smoke
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons celery seed (optional)
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
|
Directions: Mix seasonings together. Place brisket with fat side up (trim excess fat), onto sheet of heavy aluminum foil. Place into a
13x9 inch glass baking dish. Pour the liquid seasoning mixture over the brisket. Wrap and tightly seal the foil around the meat, so that it is totally covered. Set in refrigerator overnight to marinate. Bake at 300°F 4 hours. When baking has completed, drain broth from meat, place in a small pan and boil until about 1/2 is left. Serve on the side with beef. Let brisket cool for about 15 minutes and then slice thinly.
Notes: This dish goes well with baked beans and scalloped potatoes.
