Jan's Lasagna

Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
2 cloves garlic,chopped
1 package dry onion soup mix
1 1/2 cups water
1 can tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 pound lasagna noodles, cooked and rinsed
1 pound cottage cheese (dry curd)
3/4 pound Mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese







Directions: Brown ground beef with garlic. Stir in dry onion soup mix, tomato paste, tomato sauce, water, salt, oregano and sugar. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Arrange alternate layers of meat sauce, noodles, cottage cheese and Mozzarella cheese in a large casserole dish. Repeat layers, ending with meat sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes or until Mozzarella cheese is melted. Yields 6 servings.

Notes: I have used this recipe for many, many years and it is a family favorite.
