2009 Christmas Card Contest Official Rules

Children have a special way of viewing the world. High Plains/Midwest Ag Journal would like to capture that view in its 8th annual "Old Time Christmas" Art Contest. The Grand Prize winner will receive $250 and their artwork will be the officail High Plains/Midwest Ag Journal Christmas Card. In addition to the Grand Prize winner, a winner will be chosen out of each age division and will win $100.

The contest will run through mid-October, and entries must be postmarked no later than Oct. 15, 2009. Artist age groups include: Six and under; 7 to 10; and 11 to 15 years old. See complete contest rules below.

Entry guidelines:

-All entries should be postmarked on or by Oct. 15, 2009.
-Include child's name, address, phone number and age on back of artwork.
-Artwork should follow the "Old Time Christmas" theme.
-Submissions accepted only on 8 1/2- by 11-inch sheet of paper.
-Any type of original artwork created by hand (no computer generated artwork) will be accepted. Art may be pen, pencil, water color, crayon, marker, etc. No items should be glued to the page, including glitter.
-Artwork will be judged on originality, creativity, artistic ability for age, adherence to the theme, and adherence to the rules.
-There are three age categories: Six and under; 7 to 10; and 11 to 15 years old.
-All artwork becomes the property of High Plains/Midwest Ag Journal and will not be returned.
