Pratt 3 p.m. cattle sales report


The Pratt Livestock Feeder Cattle Auction, Pratt, Kan., on Feb. 20, reported estimated receipts of 4,000 head as of 3 p.m., according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared with last week, steers weighing 750 to 900 pounds were selling $2 to $5 higher and those weighing 900 to 1,000 pounds were steady. Heifers weighing 650 to 900 pounds were selling $1 to $4 higher. There were not enough steers weighing 750 pounds or under and heifers weighing 650 pounds or less for a market test as of 3 p.m.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 750 to 800 lbs., 168.75 to 173.00; 800 to 850 lbs., 164.00 to 169.10; 850 to 900 lbs., 158.00 to 164.75, 39 head thin fleshed 861 lbs., 167.85; 900 to 950 lbs., 153.25 to 157.75, 25 head thin fleshed 901 lbs., 162.00; 950 to 1000 lbs., 153.60 to 155.85.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 650 to 700 lbs., 170.35 to 175.00; 700 to 750 lbs., 160.00 to 162.25; 750 to 800 lbs., 159.25 to 160.75; 800 to 850 lbs., 155.50 to 158.25; 850 to 900 lbs., 151.25 to 154.00.
