Tulsa livestock sales report

The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa Okla., reported receipts of 3,262 head on Feb. 17, compared to 765 head last week and 1,376 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, steers were selling $4 to $6 higher. Heifers were selling $8 to $9 higher. The demand was good and the quality was good to very good. The supply included 41% weighing more than 600 pounds and 40% were heifers. The slaughter cows were selling $8 higher. The slaughter bulls were selling $6 to $7 higher. A total of 462 cows and bulls was sold with 45% going to packers.
