Grain and soybeans higher

Grain and soybean bids were higher Feb. 18, and soybeans saw solid gains on good demand, according to the National Grain Market Summary.

Wheat closed mostly 8 to 18 cents higher. Corn traded 3 to 8 cents higher. Sorghum closed 7 cents higher. Soybeans closed mostly 23 to 28 cents higher.

In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was $6.85 3/4, up 11 1/4 cents.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $6.70 3/4 to $6.75 3/4, up 11 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $7.40 3/4, up 8 3/4 cents; Portland, $7.20 to $7.32 1/2, up 5 to 11 1/4 cents; St. Louis, $6.37 to $6.52, up 11 to 14 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $4.49 1/2 to $4.54 1/2, up 4 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $4.27 1/2, up 4 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $4.40 to $4.49 1/2, up 4 1/4 to 8 1/4cents; Omaha, $4.33 to $4.40, up 3 to 5 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $13.56 to $13.61, up 23 1.2 cents; Minneapolis, $13.11, up 23 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $13.46 to $13.47, up 23 1/2 to 24 1/2 cents; central Illinois processors, $13.68 to $13.81, up 18 1/2 to 23 1/2 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Feb. 18, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $7.85 to $8.62, up 11 1/4 to 13 1/4 cents; 12% protein, $8.57 to $8.67, up 13 1/4 cents; 13% protein, $8.25 to $8.55, up 11 1/4 cents; 14% protein, $8.70 to $8.80, up 11 1/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $4.86 to $4.90, up 8 to 4 cents.
