Wheat closes lower

Grains traded lower July 29 as soybeans gave back a portion of their gain, according to the National Grain Market Summary.

Wheat closed 10 34 to 14 cents lower. Corn was mostly 21/4 to 6 1/4 cents lower. Soybeans closed 10 to 19 cents lower.

In the futures close, Kansas City September wheat was $6.11 1/2, down 14 cents.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $6.18 1/2, down 14 cents; Minneapolis, $6.80 1/2, down 10 3/4 cents; Portland, $6.20 to $6.95, down 14 1/4 to 7 3/4 cents; St. Louis, $4.75 to $6.00, down 14 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.61 1/2 to $3.66 1/2, down 6 1/4 to 3 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $3.30 1/2, down 17 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $3.65 1/2 to $3.69 1/2, down 2 1/4 to 6 1/4 cents; Omaha, $3.45, down 3 to 4 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $12.20, down 12 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $12.42 1/2, down 25 cents; southern Iowa, 12.36 1/2 to 12.52 1/2, down 10 to 19 cents; central Illinois processors, $12.96 1/2 to $13.26 1/2, down 1/2 to down 10 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices April 1, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $7.16 to $7.35, down 14 cents; 12 percent protein, $7.31 to $7.46, down 14 cents; 13 percent protein, $7.26 to $7.36, down 14 cents; 14 percent protein, $7.19 to $7.29, down 14 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn, no quote.
