Lexington livestock auction report

The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 4,835 head on Aug. 30, compared to 3,080 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Kearney, Neb.

No recent test of the market was available for an accurate comparison. However, a sharply higher undertone was noted. Buyers placed their bids readily from start to finish on a top quality bawling spring calves, most with spring shots, and yearling feeders most off native pastures. The supply included 50 percent steers with 56% of the run over 600 pounds.
