Ranchland Trust of Kansas hosts photo contest

There is still time to enter the second annual Ranchland Trust of Kansas Photo Contest showcasing the natural beauty of ranching and grazing lands across the state. Photos should express the mission of RTK: “To preserve Kansas’ ranching heritage and open spaces for future generations through the conservation of working landscapes.”

Photos submitted may include livestock, people and landscape, with preference to grasslands, grazing lands with cattle, ranchers, ranching families and much more.

“This will be the second year for the Ranchland Trust of Kansas photo contest. It was a huge success on so many levels,” says RTK board chairman Heather Fuesz of Eureka. “Last year photographers were able to show off amazing Kansas images while viewers were reminded of the spectacular heritage our state offers in breathtaking scenes preserved by photography.”

The contest is open to anyone with an original photograph taken in Kansas since Jan. 1, 2011. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Participants may enter up to five photos. The categories include: landscape, livestock and people. The entry deadline for the contest has been extended to Sept. 27, 2013.

The contest offers great prizes and many chances to win, thanks to Wolfe’s. A $25 Wolfe’s Print Services Card and a certificate for 10 photo cards of your winning photo from Wolfe’s will be awarded to the winner in each category, while the single image selected as the overall winner will receive Promaster Catalina 8 x 30 Binoculars, a $25 Wolfe’s Print Services Card and a certificate for 10 photo cards of your winning photo from Wolfe’s. In addition, a youth (ages 5 to 17), a fan favorite via Facebook voting, a Kansas Livestock Association member winner and three honorable mentions each will receive a $25 Wolfe’s Print Services Card and a certificate for 10 photo cards of your winning photo from Wolfe’s.
